Blog-iversary!!

We have had this blog for one year...and two days. So, has it served the purpose of keeping you updated on us? Is there anything we should talk about more? Less? Too many pictures? Too few (HA!)? Any burning questions? If you don't give us suggestions we will just keep boring you with stories of my social awkwardness. You have been warned.

Public Speaking

I didn't even make it one week before I was called on in International Politics to talk about Israel. Darn it. Oh well, I got through it with minimal blushing and flop sweat, and hopefully won't have to do it again for a week or so.

Sergio had a moot court assignment for Legal Writing. He had to argue a case in front of real Judges in a real court room. He did fine, I think. He didn't pass out, which is better than at least one guy last year, and even that person didn't fail. He seemed pleased with the whole thing overall.

After that we went out with most of his law class to a little place called Greek Cusina. Downstairs it is just a quiet hole-in-the-wall restaurant, but upstairs it was standing room only. There were belly dancers, greek musicians, heavy greek men yelling in broken English, and large groups breaking plates. I don't know how authentic this place was, maybe more of a stereotype, but it was fun. Sadly, we left after about 45 minutes because we have no time for fun. Drat!

Updates

We are rather busy right now studying either the law or peasant women in Medieval Europe, depending on which of us you are talking about. Either way, there is no time for a coherent post, so here are some updates in list form.

1. Sergio starts finals again in just a couple of weeks. He doesn't seem to be looking forward to that at all.

2. In my International Politics class, I am Israel. This means that at any point I can get called on to speak about Israel, and I am supposed to know something about it. For one hour three days a week, I am once again a nervous, sweaty, fingernail biting third grader in math class. What do you think the chances are that I will get through the quarter without being called on?

3. Eliot met his first bully at the dog park on Friday. Anyone know how to teach a dog to stand up for himself? Canine Krav Maga, maybe?

4. Sergio pointed out to me last week that the black dress shoes I bought for a last minute interview eight months ago, are actually one black shoe and one navy blue shoe. I have been wearing these shoes a couple of times a week for nearly a year and never noticed.

5. Along that same line, twice in the last couple of months we have found full containers of ice cream in the refrigerator where I placed them the night before. It makes me want to cry, all that perfectly good ice cream going to waste.

6. I feel like Sergio needs another update. He is asleep on the couch right now. Also, he shaved his beard last week.

Eliot's Easter Treat

Actually, we take him to the dog park regularly now that it is sunny. This is the winter dog park, and as you can see, it is just dirt. In a couple of weeks we will get to move to the summer park, which has grass, at least for now. These pictures are awful, but I think you can see Eliot's joy anyway. Happy Easter
We can't take him anywhere!

Money Well Spent

One of my classes is linguistics. In my first assignment I have learned something. To say "all y'all" is to say "all you all." You should just say "y'all." Now if only I could find someone who actually says this and correct them.
